Title: Really Easy Way to Bake Delicious Bread

Review: This book is great for first-timer bakers as well as people who've been baking bread for years. Steve Gamelin describes using simple ingredients and techniques in a very casual, yet informative way. The resulting bread is delicious with a very nice texture. It's amazing that such high-quality bread can be made without kneading. Recipes are also included for rolls, pretzels and pizza. I've been baking bread for a long time and was looking for a good no-knead method, and I'm very happy with this book. If I could, I would give it 10 stars.

Review: I used tohear accounts from those who love to bake bread - some where in the accounts they would describe in excruciating detail the long kneading process. My wife discovered this technique and is able to make great tasting artisan breads without any kneading. She's gifted some loafs to friends and they rave about the taste and texture.

Review: I have been enjoying Steve's videos on YouTube for several years & finally purchased his book.

If you want to learn how to bake delicious no knead bread easily, this is the cookbook you need.

Title: Great bread, made accessible

Review: I’ve been baking bread by traditional methods for many years, and am comfortable enough with that process to do so without recipes. However, I found myself not baking very often because I’m disabled and I simply didn’t have the energy, ability, and time all at once very often. A friend mentioned this “turbo” method, so I decided to try it. I’m sold, especially with my stand mixer- all I had to do was scoop ingredients, flick a switch, and put the pan in the oven. I can handle that on all but my worst days!
I’m not sure the author will appreciate what I’m about to say, but the fact is there’s nothing revolutionary or even particularly original about these methods. These are tricks that almost any experienced baker will be aware of. The benefit of this book is that it presents these tricks in a manner that gives beginners the confidence to try them, and combines them for the ultimate combination of ease and speed. For that reason the book absolutely has value and is worth having.
The sole reason I took off one star is that I think the author created this book mostly alone from start to finish and while that’s an admirable feat, it definitely could benefit from professional editing. Sometimes the text reads more like an email between friends than a published work, and while that can make for a cozy read, it can also feel like a bit of a slog if one is referring back looking for a specific detail. I will say that I do like the chronological presentation of the recipes (do this, xx minutes later do this, xx minutes later that, etc) and that those pages have been streamlined quite well. It’s the rest of the text between recipes that needs a bit of red pencil. But overall, the book is great! I’m going to go have another slice.

Review: Gracious! I kid you not, I am the WORST bread baker EVER! I can crank out a beef Wellington and not even break a sweat. I can bake biscotti with the best of them and follow it up with some of the finest home made ice cream! BAKE BREAD??? I have more chance of winning the lotto. THEN... I found STEVE! MY HERO!
I kid you not, his 'No Knead Bread' is an absolute game changer. It is SO simple and fail proof even I have success when baking bread- all KINDS of bread! My friends love getting fresh, still warm from the oven bread when I come over for dinner. You can NOT go wrong with the recipes and it just doesn't get any easier than the techniques that Steve has developed. Check him out on YouTube, as well.

Review: My first bread from Steve’s My No-knead Cookbook. Beer Bread. I used dark beer, hence the dark color. The video said to bake at 400 and the book said 450. I went with 450. The recipe calls for 14 oz of beer which I used but next time I’ll only open one beer and use water for the other two ounces. Otherwise, I am starting too early! 🍺
This bread baked beautifully and tasted delicious. It was very easy. Once I go back to work this method of baking bread will be a lifesaver. One other very important point.. as I am learning to bake bread I am discovering that the humidity in San Diego must be quite high because nearly every bread recipe I try needs about 2 ounces less of water than the recipe calls for. I followed this recipe exactly except for the exception of needing a bit more flour because of the humidity issue. I really like the cookbook. It is true, many of the recipes are similar but that is kind of the beauty of it, it makes it easy to follow and gives you lots of options. I am glad I purchased it. If you are new to baking or don’t have much time to watch dough rise then this is the book for you!
